«Los Goyas del Covid» como se ha denominado a esta edición de los premios del cine español han visto como la película dirigida por Pilar Palomero «Las Niñas» se llevaba el premio al mejor metraje por delante de la gran favorita que era «Abdú» al lograr cuatro de las nueve candidaturas a las que competía, entre ellas las de Mejor Película.
‘Akelarre’ ha sido otra de las ganadoras de la noche con cinco premios, principalmente en las categorías técnicas, mientras, la gran favorita de esta edición, ‘Adú’ que competía en trece nominaciones, lograba cuatro de ellas: Mejor dirección (Salvador Calvo), Mejor sonido (Eduardo Esquide, Jamaica Ruíz García, Juan Ferro y Nicolas de Poulpiquet), Mejor dirección de producción (Ana Parra y Luis Fernández Lago) y Mejor actor revelación.
«Las Niñas» también se ha hecho con el Goya a Mejor Dirección Novel y Mejor Guion Original, lo que ha permitido el doblete de Pilar Palomero y se completa con Daniela Cajías, con el Goya a la Mejor dirección de fotografía, por lo que se convierte en la primera mujer en ganar este galardón, justo a dos días de celebrar el 8-M, «Día de Mujer».
Mario Casas cumplió los pronósticos y se alzó con el Mejor Actor Protagonista por ‘No matarás’, mientras que la actriz Ángela Molina, era la elegida para ganar el Goya de Honor 2021, y que ha sido la única ganadora que ha recibido la estatuilla en persona en el Teatro del Soho de Málaga, en una gala conducida por Antonio Banderas y María Casado.
El Goya al Mejor cortometraje documental ha sido para ‘Biografía del cadáver de una mujer’, dirigido y producido por Mabel Lozano, a cantante Rozalén, ganadora del Goya a Mejor canción original por la película ‘La boda de Rosa, ‘La boda de Rosa’ también ha logrado el Goya para Nathalie Poza, como Mejor actriz de reparto’, mejor actor de reparto ha sido para Alberto San Juan, por ‘Sentimental’.
Para finalizar, el Goya a Mejor película europea ha sido para ‘El padre’ de Florian Zeller; el de Mejor película iberoamericana ha recaido en ‘El olvido que seremos’ (Colombia), de Fernando Trueba; el de Mejor película documental para ‘El año del descubrimiento’, de Lacima Producciones, S.L; y el Mejor cortometraje de ficción ha sido para ‘A la cara’, dirigido y producido por Javier Marco Rico, el Goya a Mejor película de animación ha sido para ‘La gallina Turuleca’, la única en su categoría; mientras que en Mejor cortometraje de animación el premio ha sido para ‘Blue & Malone: Casos Imposibles’, dirigido por Abraham López Guerrero.
